In all of the challenges of today’s healthcare environment, giving is more essential than ever to provide an increased margin for excellence. From the rapid pace of technology to decreases in reimbursements, from government and insurance to the nursing shortage, our challenges are many. Health care operating margins are small, hospital needs are many, and donated funds enjoy the benefit of not having to be earned through the provision of expensive services. Your support allows our hospitals to think in terms of possibilities rather than limitations. Your support empowers our devoted, energetic, and capable healthcare providers to achieve new heights of service excellence. Your support equips our doctors, nurses, and technicians to meet very real needs that can make the ultimate difference in a patient’s life, perhaps even yours or someone you love.
There are two key questions we must all ask ourselves: What does it take to have the best healthcare possible and what can I do to help? Our hospitals are making strides to be the best in the nation and we can certainly feel good about all the progress that has been made. You can have confidence in those who lead and serve our hospitals, knowing they are focused on meeting the needs of patients and families as their highest priority. We can take pride in our personal investments because they result in saved lives and renewed hope every day.

Healthcare is expensive and our budgets are large. But, in today’s healthcare environment every dollar spent results in only two to five cents that can be reinvested in making our hospitals better. On the other hand, your gift has a tremendous impact—especially when it is combined with support from hundreds of others in our community.

Including Wellmont Foundation in your will is a very simple process. You may use your will to benefit the hospital or medical area of your choice by instructing that the Foundation receive a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or a remainder amount. By making the Foundation aware of your plans, we are able to fully understand your wishes. Please consult your attorney and financial advisors as appropriate. For sample language please visit the Wills section of our Planned Giving page.
