Circle of Stars Celebration of Giving Gala
Every year, we take the opportunity to celebrate the spirit of giving that makes our community so special and to recognize the supporters of our hospitals for their generosity. Each year we recognize those who give during the calendar year with the Circle of Stars Celebration of Giving Gala. This year's event is scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2009 at MeadowView Resort and Convention Center in Kingsport and we will be celebrating the 25th year of the Christine LaGuardia Phillips Cancer Center.
Lonesome Pine Hall of Fame
The Lonesome Pine Hall of Fame held on Saturday, September 27, 2008 served as the kickoff for fundraising benefiting the Southwest Virginia Cancer Center. Mr. Jim Cornett was honored for his years of community service in the region - we congratulate Jim on his accomplishments. Over 100 guests enjoyed a reception, dinner, and entertainment by the ETSU Bluegrass Band at Mountain Empire Community College’s Goodloe Center and ticket sales benefited the Southwest Virginia Cancer Center. If you would like to make a donation to the Southwest Virginia Cancer Center or give in honor of Jim, please use the Online Donation Form or visit the Ways to Give section of this web site for other options.
Please look for information regarding the 2009 Lonesome Pine Hall of Fame Event in late spring 2009. Thank you for your continued support!

Partners in Health
Wellmont Foundation is starting a series of donor cultivation events at individual hospitals within the health system. These events will be known as “Partners in Health” and are designed to provide hospital administration the opportunity to share the vision and needs of their hospital. This will provide a direct line of communication between donors and hospital administration and will also allow the Foundation to educate the donors on ways to give. Please contact Clarisse Strong at (423) 230-8555 for upcoming dates, topics, and locations.
