About Children’s Miracle Network Learn more about Wellmont's Children's Services About Children’s Miracle NetworkChildren's Miracle Network (CMN) is an alliance of premier hospitals for children. CMN was developed by the Osmond Foundation in 1983 with one goal in mind - to save and improve the lives of sick children. In 1987, the Regional Children's Center at Holston Valley Medical Center was invited by the Osmond Foundation to become one of the select international pediatric centers comprising CMN. Today the Regional Children's Center is the heart of Wellmont Children's Health Services, which is comprised of Bristol Regional Medical Center, Holston Valley Medical Center, Lonesome Pine Hospital, Hawkins County Memorial Hospital, and Hancock County Hospital. More than $6 million has been raised locally to benefit children in our region through CMN. Although fundraising events are conducted throughout the year, the core of CMN's fundraising tool is the annual CMN Celebration held the weekend after Memorial Day. In addition to encouraging phone-in pledges, this televised fundraiser features educational segments, national entertainment, sponsor interviews and touching miracle stories about local children. The local portion of the broadcast is hosted by WJHL News Channel 11 personalities. Other CMN fundraising programs include a Radiothon hosted by Electric 94.9 and WXBQ, a phone-a-thon and Miracle Balloons, along with a variety of grassroots events that numerous sponsors organize and conduct to benefit CMN. By supporting CMN, your gifts benefit every child who enters a Wellmont Health System hospital. Your support makes it possible for an exceptional level of care to be given to every patient. All of our children should have access to world-class health care. CMN funds support the programs and services of Wellmont Children's Health Services by purchasing equipment and materials. Wellmont is the only place many sick children can go to get the sophisticated care they need without having to travel to a far-away city. Although the love and dedication of Wellmont Children's Health Services staff, doctors, nurses and volunteers are priceless, today's technology and specialized training carry a high price tag. Let's face it - medical needs are expensive. The quality and sophistication of care available to our children is affected by the level of support given by businesses, individuals and organizations in our region.
